The invitation for the ‘Trees and Sky’ private view and opening at Netsel Gallery, Marmaris on 28th May was specially designed by Stephen Jeremy Maxwell Bray, and has been typeset and produced by Aktuel Marmaris.
It is inspired by the work of the late photographer and designer Henry Wolf. Born on May 23, 1925 in Austria he fled his country of birth with his parents to avoid the persecution of Jews by Hitler’s Germany.
After a period of military service with American forces Wolf became art director of Esquire in 1952. Later he worked for Harpers Bazaar, Show, and the advertising agency McCann Erickson.
In 1971 he launched Henry Wolf Productions, a studio devoted to photography, film and design. Wolf died on February 14, 2005.
Wolf was a master of what he referred to a Visual Thinking, which he defined as ‘methods for making images memorable’.There a seventeen of these, according to Wolf. The image created by Bray for the invitation uses two of them.
Can you guess what they are?
